August 1, 2023 | Common application open | Students who wish to apply to a 4-year college or university should check directly with the respective schools admissions website for application information. More than 700 colleges participate in the Common Application; students can submit one application for multiple colleges. |
UC applications open | Students who wish to apply to a UC for Fall 2024 will need to complete an application. The personal statement has been updated, so students should review the new personal insight questions; they will need to answer 4 of the 8 questions. Each application costs $70. | |
Community college applications | Students who wish to apply to a community college for Fall 2024 will need to research the application deadlines for their community college. Community colleges will have different admission timelines and application deadlines. | |
August 4, 2023 | Registration deadline for September 9 ACT | Students who wish to apply to 4-year colleges or universities that require a SAT or ACT will need to register. Late registration deadline: August 18, 2023.

September 2023 | Deadline to contact AP Coordinators | Central Schools do not currently offer AP exams. Students who wish to take an AP Exam must follow the directions for Homeschoolers and find the names and numbers of a local high school’s AP Coordinator who will offer the exam to outside students. Please reach out to your HST for help. Students will need to let AP Coordinators know that they are looking for a school willing to administer exams for an out-of-district student, the exams you plan to take, and any accommodations that are needed. |
September 7, 2023 | Registration deadline for October 7 SAT | Students who wish to apply to 4-year colleges or universities that require a standardized exam (SAT or ACT) will need to register. The late registration deadline is September 26, 2023.

September 22, 2023 | Registration deadline for October 28 ACT | Students who wish to apply to 4-year colleges or universities that require a standardized exam (SAT or ACT) will need to register. The late registration deadline is October 6, 2023.

October 1, 2023 | Start date for FAFSA | Students who wish to be considered for federal financial aid for 2024 - 2025 must complete the FAFSA. Students will need a social security number, federal income tax returns, W2s, records of income and investments, and an electronic signature ID.

CSU applications open | Students who wish to apply to a CSU for Fall 2024 will need to complete an application. The CSU uses AG course completion and GPA to make admission decisions, but has temporarily suspended the use of the SAT/ACT. Each application costs $70.

October 5, 2023 | Registration deadline for November 4, 2023 SAT | Students who wish to apply to 4-year colleges or universities that require a standardized exam (SAT or ACT) will need to register. The late registration deadline is October 24, 2023.

October 2023 | Deadline to opt-out of Cal Grant GPA reporting | The Cal Grant is a way for students to earn money for college. Students must fill out the FAFSA, meet eligibility requirements, and fulfill minimum GPA requirements. Inspire is required to submit a Cal Grant GPA for all graduating seniors; this is done automatically each year. Students who do not wish to have their GPA submitted to the California Student Aid Commission can opt-out. Students who do not submit their Cal Grant GPA will not qualify for the Cal Grant. If your student would like to opt-out, please fill out the form below and email your high school counselor.

November 30, 2023 | Deadline for UC Applications | Students who wish to apply to a UC for Fall 2024 will need to complete an online application. The personal statement has been updated, so students should review the new personal insight questions; they will need to answer 4 of the 8 questions. Students only need to submit one UC application, but each additional campus they apply to will charge an additional fee.

November 30, 2023 | Deadline for CSU Applications | Students who wish to apply to a CSU for the Fall 2024 will need to complete an online application. No essay is required for admission to the CSU however, some specific campuses/programs of study may request an essay. Be sure to check with the campus to which you are applying.
