Contact PSAT/NMSQT Coordinators |
The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test is a standardized test administered by the College Board during the month of October that closely mirrors the SAT. College-bound 11th graders are encouraged to take the test. The PSAT/NMSQT can qualify students for the National Merit Scholarship Program and other scholarships. Please research the PSAT/NMSQT for more information and to see if you would benefit from taking the test. Central Valley Charter Schools do not provide a testing site; however, some local private and public charter schools have allowed our students to test with them in the past. You can search and find a school near you here. Email your interest to the school along with the student's first and last name, and grade level as soon as possible. The test fee is $18. It is required that the students have a student ID to identify them on the test day. |
Contact AP Coordinators |
CVCS does not offer AP exams. Students who wish to take an AP Exam must follow the directions for “My School Doesn’t Offer AP Exams”. Use the AP Course Ledger to find a local high school offering the exam. Students must let AP Coordinators know they are looking for a school willing to administer exams for an out-of-district student, the exams they plan to take, and any needed accommodations. Please reach out to your IST for help. |
Deadline to opt out of Cal Grant GPA reporting |
The Cal Grant is a way for students to earn money for college. Students must fill out the FAFSA, meet eligibility requirements, and fulfill minimum GPA requirements. CVCS is required to submit a Cal Grant GPA for all graduating seniors; GPAs are submitted automatically each year. Students who do not wish to have their GPA submitted to the California Student Aid Commission can opt out. Students who do not submit their Cal Grant GPA will not qualify for the Cal Grant. If your student wants to opt out, please complete the form below and email your high school counselor.
