Passport to Japan

Beginning Japanese is a year-long elective for students in grades 4–6 that introduces the Japanese language and culture through interactive activities, games, songs, and conversation practice. Students will learn to read and write hiragana and katakana, recognize basic kanji, build simple sentences, and develop beginning speaking and listening skills. Cultural topics such as holidays, food, geography, and traditions are woven throughout the course to provide a meaningful introduction to Japan.
